Supervisors Meeting Minutes-November 12, 2025

November 12, 2025

The Otto Township Supervisor’s meeting was held on November 12, 2025, at The Otto Township Office Building. Board members present were Supervisors Gerard Rettger, Dennis Mong and Christopher Kaluza, Secretary Jeannine Drummond. Visitors in attendance include Carol Stuck, Tina Crandell, and Colleen Ross.

Christopher Kaluza called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. with The Pledge of Allegiance.

The Supervisors went into an executive session. After returning Gerard stated that the Supervisors discussed having Chris Schwab as the Chief of Police effective January 1,2026.

Visitors were welcomed.

October meeting minutes were reviewed. Dennis motioned to accept, Christopher 2nd AIF

The treasurer’s report, bills and bank statements were reviewed. Motion Gerard, Christopher 2nd AIF.

Park Report- The park has been prepped for Winter.

Road Work Report- CJ read the road report. The Supervisors approved winter hours from 6am-2pm as needed.

Police Report- Cameron Magee has been hired and will start the Police Academy in January 2026.

OLD BUSINESS:

Updates Kansas Branch Project- No new updates.

Diesel Fuel bids opened. Sandburg Oil was the only bid. Salt/Sand Bids were opened. B&R Green Trucking was the only bid at $43.40 per ton. Gerard motioned to accept both bids, Christopher 2nd AIF.

Motion from Gerard to advertise the 2026 budget, Christopher 2nd, AIF. The budget will also be listed on the Township website.

A policy for the approval of disposal of real property was presented and approved. Motion Christopher, 2nd Dennis AIF.

New Township Road worker- Christopher motioned to hire Alex Hitchcock, Gerard 2nd, Dennis opposed.

NEW BUSINESS:

Christopher has pricing for new tools for shop. The total from Hull is $570.84; this would be covered from the scrap money. He will also check price at Home Depot.

Jeannine has paperwork from the Liquid Fuels audit. When the Depot Street Bridge was completed the reimbursement amount to the General Account was $29,755.67 too much. This amount should have been made to the State Account. A transfer will be made to put the funds into the State account from the General Account.

LSA Grant Resolution #151 for Brooklyn Street Bridge, Motion Dennis,2nd Christopher AIF and Resolution # 152 for a tractor, Motion Gerard, Dennis 2nd AIF, were approved and signed.

Resolution # 153 to hire a new Township Solicitor, motion Christopher, Gerard 2nd AIF

Approval of advertising for Ordinance no. 77 for Supervisors’ pay. Christopher motioned, Dennis 2nd

E&M proposal for boundary survey for Clark Street. Cost is $2900.00, Christopher motioned to approve, Gerard 2nd AIF.

A subdivision proposal for Kyle Milliron was reviewed. Gerard motioned, Christopher 2nd AIF.

The Annual Organizational Meeting will be held January 5, 2026, at 6pm at the Otto Township Offices.

The 2026 MMO for the Pension Plan was approved. Motion Gerard, Christopher 2nd AIF.

Gerard motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:12pm. Christopher 2nd AIF.
