August 13, 2025

The Otto Township Supervisor’s meeting was held on August 13, 2025, at The Otto Township Office Building. Board members present were Supervisors Gerard Rettger, Dennis Mong and CJ Kaluza, Secretary Jeannine Drummond. Visitors in attendance include Mike Stuck, Carol Stuck, Tina Crandell, Colleen Ross, Bill Cochran, Noah Jordan, Kyle Goodwill and Tim Goodwill.

CJ Kaluza called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. with The Pledge of Allegiance.

The Supervisors went into an executive session for personnel issues with 2 employees. After returning from the session Gerard stated that they discussed ongoing issues with one employee, and the other employee was released for not showing up for shifts.

Visitors were welcomed- Noah Jordan spoke on behalf of Hometown Days Committee thanking the Township and all residents that helped make the 2025 event successful.

July meeting minutes were reviewed. Gerard motioned to accept CJ 2nd AIF.

The treasurer’s report, bills and bank statements were reviewed. Motion CJ, Dennis 2nd AIF.

Park Report- CJ asked about the old wooden bleachers and if they should be fixed as a community service project. It was determined to just dispose of them.

The Township will be putting a new toilet in for the one damaged in the restroom at the park.

Road Work Report- CJ read the road report.

Police Report- An ad has been placed on Indeed for hiring new officers.

OLD BUSINESS:

Updates Kansas Branch Project- No new updates.

Berger Hollow Bridge- No new updates. Still waiting on temporary bridge.

6 Oil Valley Road- County has it out for bid. Township removed brush and set up for utilities to be cut. Grant will cover 100% of demolition costs.

Flooding Issues in Duke Center- The State flushed the crossover pipes hoping to help with issues. CJ and Gerard met with County and State. It was determined that the Township needs to prove its ongoing issues with flooding. Jeannie will reach out on the Township Facebook page for dated material with information and photos of the flooding.

Solar and Wind Ordinance- CJ noted a few things he felt need added. Gerard and Dennis are still reviewing it.

Motion to adjourn at 6:50pm. CJ motion, Gerard 2nd AIF.
