2026 Appointments and Compensations-January 5, 2026

 

Otto Township Supervisors held the annual organizational meeting on January 5, 2026. In attendance were Supervisors Christopher Kaluza, Dennis Mong and Gerard Rettger, Secretary Jeannine Drummond. Visitors present Colleen Ross, Tim Crandall and Carol Stuck. Christopher called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Gerard presented his notarized Oath of Office for his new 6-year Supervisor term.

**Motion to approve all appointments- Gerard motioned to approve, Dennis 2nd AIF

 

  1. Treasurer’s bond—Bond is in the amount of $550,000.
  2. Millage 2026—-6 Mills-5 mills to township and 1 mill to Otto Township Fire Department
  3. Mileage—Mileage is to be paid 72.5 cents a mile. An increase from 70 cents in 2025
  4. Depositor—Northwest Savings Bank-
  5. Employee Wages

Employee raises—Gerard motioned for a 2% raise for Mark Palmer, Art Holden, Frank Barton, and Jeannine Drummond. No raise for Alex Hitchcock as he was just hired. A 1% raise for Justin Perkins. Dennis 2nd, Christopher abstained from voting.

Supervisors will receive $100 a month for Dennis and Christopher, $200.00 for Gerard, which is an increase that was passed in 2025 for all new Supervisors. Christopher Motioned, Dennis 2nd, Gerard abstained.

Wages for Tax Collector—6% of Real Estate and Per Capita Tax collected. Gerard motion, Christopher 2nd AIF.

  1. Date of meetings—2nd Wednesday of month at 6 p.m. at the Otto Township Office. Work sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of the month following the Police Board meetings as needed. Gerard motioned, Christopher 2nd AIF

BENEFITS FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES

Full-time employees will participate in a state-approved pension plan, and the employees have the option to pay up to 10% into this plan.  The supervisors will contribute 10% to each full-time employee’s pension plan.

Term Life Insurance in the amount of $50,000

Vision—$250 reimbursement per employee household

Employees can get insurance benefits after 30 days of employment.

 

Personal Days– Full-time employees will get 7 personal days a year. The days will not carry over or be reimbursed. Must be used or they are lost.

 

Vacation Time                     1 week after 1 year                             4 weeks after 20 years

2 weeks after 5 years                        5 weeks after 25 years

3 weeks after 10 years

Vacation time cannot be accumulated, and employees will not be paid for unused days. If days are not used, they are lost.

Benefits will be renewed on January 1st each year.

 

 

Holidays: If holiday falls on the weekend the day before or the day after will be taken as the holiday.
